Global initiatives for an interconnected world are a logical response to the present. Saudi Arabia Fashion Commission responds to this with the launch of Saudi House of Fashion and the re-emergence of the “EMERGE” concept store, projects solely dedicated to promoting the country’s local talents around the world through fashion shows and pop-ups during Milan Fashion Weeks and Paris Fashion Weeks, now coming to Mexico as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Los Cabos (MBFW Los Cabos) The Luxury Edition.

In the current landscape, the fashion industry has found an opportunity to blur borders through strategies so that local talents of a country do not remain within its borders and have a greater global impact.

Saudi Arabia has a flourishing horizon, making it one of the most promising talent incubators thanks to the supportive push to promote the diverse styles and new perspectives brought by its Saudi designers, who are redefining fashion and luxury with unique craftsmanship and original narratives.

The country has launched a massive initiative to build on its fashion ecosystem. One of the key players in this venture is the Fashion Commission, one of the 11 industry-specific commissions under the Saudi Ministry of Culture. The plan is to evolve the fashion industry through cultural representation, heritage and local identity by rewriting the global perception of Saudi fashion and strengthening the national economy.

Before talking about EMERGE, we must understand what the Fashion Commission is and its important work in building the fashion industry in Saudi Arabia. The Fashion Commission, aims to develop the sector, promote its advancement, and support local fashion talents at a national and international scale.

This commission has established a new strategy to improve and boost the sector through initiatives aimed at increasing its contribution to the Kingdom’s economy in highlighting its rich culture, amplifying the country’s heritage and identity, while responding to global needs and creating impactful events.

The mission is clear: to build a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive community, fully integrated throughout the value chain, promoting local talent, experiences and competencies.
